Profile number 6 sees another newbie to this year’s ride take the hotseat. Jim Calverley explains his reasons for joining up as well as why he would like Femi Ilesanmi to join us on the bike ride…

calverleyName: Jim Calverley
Age: 25
Occupation: Insurance Claims handler
Favourite York Player: Nick Pope – I miss him, I think we all do really….. I also have a bet on him getting an England Cap.
Favourite York Game: Which ever I choose it will be topped by the one that ends Wilcox’s rein but currently it would have to be the play off semi at Mansfield

Question 1 – Why?
I bought a bike, Ian posted about needing a rider, I asked what in entailed, he put my name down and that was all in the space of an hour!

Question 2 – How much preparation have you done so far and how much do you plan on doing?
I cycle to work daily and try and get out most weekends, I’m currently sat here with painful legs after a 45 mile flirt with the Howardian hills.

Question 3 – What do you think you will bring to the bike ride?
Banter, I enjoy banter…. Probably also some height.

Question 4 – What do you think will be the hardest aspect of the ride?
Er… the distance? I’m too positive to think of negatives!

Question 5 – Who are you looking forward to biking with the most and the least?
I don’t really know anyone well enough to answer, I’m just looking forward to being a team player!

Question 6 – If you could choose any York City player either past or present to bike with you, who would it be?
In current form probably Femi…. Then he wouldn’t be playing at Northampton!

Question 7 – Do you predict any injuries or falls for yourself or other riders?
To quote Chumbawumba – “I get knocked down I get back up again, you’re never going to keep me down.”

Question 8 – What’s the first thing you’ll do when you finish?
Collapse.
