After a technology related break from rider profiles, we return with a chat with one of last years riders. Now tax-dodging whilst studying in Sheffield, Adam Livingston gave us his thoughts.

Question 1 – Why?
Well first of all it’s for a terrific cause and I hope we can raise even more than we did last year. Secondly, we had a cracking time last year riding as a group, even through the highs and lows (literally).

Question 2 – How much preparation have you done so far and how much do you plan on doing?
Honestly, I’ve done very little so far, whereas last year I had done a fair bit of training at this point. I’m hoping now I have migrated to Sheffield I’ll get some decent miles in alongside Ian Jones, as long as his knees hold out!

Question 3 – What do you think you will bring to the bike ride?
Jelly babies, flapjack and hand warmers.

Question 4 – What do you think will be the hardest aspect of the ride?Battling the hills after a long 80km ride whilst the dark is closing in. Mentally tough.

Question 5 – Who are you looking forward to biking with the most and the least?
I’m looking forward to continue my duel with Nathan Brigham, obviously I’m slightly the better rider. Robert Corker is also a good character to ride this ‘tin pot’ ride alongside with. But in truth we are a great group and I can’t wait to cycle with them all.

Question 6 – If you could choose any York City player either past or present to bike with you, who would it be?
Keith Lowe, he would be like a father figure to us all, pushing us all to the very end.
Editor Note: Unfortunate timing with Keith being released today.

Question 7 – Do you predict any injuries or falls for yourself or other riders?
We were fairly lucky last year in terms of injuries, but there’s no doubt Ian and Tom will complain about their knees, although I think Tom just enjoys the van rides with Martyn! I just hope the weather stays kind.

Question 8 – What’s the first thing you’ll do when you finish?
Get off my bike and let my arse recover! Then I’ll get inside, warm up and have a well-earned drink.
