Poole

Name: Tom Poole
Age: 27
Occupation: Bank Manager
Favourite York Player: Jon Challinor
Favourite York Game: Gateshead 1 – 2 York City – Michael Gash with a late headed winner.

Question 1 – Why?

It was a fantastic experience last year with a great group of lads and to do the same thing again I thought why not.

Question 2 – How much preparation have you done so far and how much do you plan on doing?
So far I have completed a couple of bike rides between 20 – 30 miles looking to continue to do a couple of rides a week but building up the distance each time. Well that’s the plan in reality ill probably do nothing and hope for the best.

Question 3 – What do you think you will bring to the bike ride?
After last years ride I think I will bring a wealth of experience in repairing punctures and of course the Chinese food.

Question 4 – What do you think will be the hardest aspect of the ride?
We were lucky last year with the weather but this year it could be completely different, getting up corker hill in bad weather could be a huge test.

Question 5 – Who are you looking forward to biking with the most and the least?
Most – Corker as the resident group idiot there is never a dull moment when he is around. Least – Ben Nicholson because he is an absolute machine and made it look so easy when everyone else was in bits.

Question 6 – If you could choose any York City player either past or present to bike with you, who would it be?
Any of the playoff winning squad really would be fantastic, just to talk about the whole experience of winning at Wembley twice in a week. If I had to pick one of those though I would probably say either Banjo or Mezza.

Question 7 – Do you predict any injuries or falls for yourself or other riders?
Someone will certainly fall off, I just hope Ian makes it past York before he decides to hit the deck. You don’t become part of the club until you have bailed.

Question 8 – What’s the first thing you’ll do when you finish?
Have a beer and then hopefully watch City put in a better performance than last season.
