Rider Profile 16: Ryan Brigham

We’ve reached rider 16 of the 17 confirmed for this years event. And he is a new addition to the team. We may seem some family rivalry this year as joining the team is Ryan Brigham, brother of Nath.

Name: Ryan Brigham

Favourite York Player: Jamie Reed
Favourite York Game: York v Luton Play off Final

Question 1 – Why?
Purely because I missed out on what sounded a cracking experience last year. From what I’ve gathered and heard, it’s one I simply don’t want to miss out on second time around! Aswell as raising some all important spondoolies for a great cause.

Question 2 – How much preparation have you done so far and how much do you plan on doing?
Hoping to go into this with my eyes closed hoping for the best, not to come first but also not to come last. Eyeing up a few rides out nearer the time, but I need to get my ass into gear and get a bike first! Otherwise I’ll be hoping for a croggy, anyone?
Editors Note: Thankfully, Ryan now has a bike. As offers of a croggy were a bit slow.

Question 3 – What do you think you will bring to the bike ride?
I’m currently thinking do I bring my hair clipping kit so we can all convince my brother receedo to follow suit or do I bring a bottle of Jager or two for the after party?

Question 4 – What do you think will be the hardest aspect of the ride?
Spending a few nights beside Joe Pinder, wondering why on earth he hasn’t took a leaf out of my book! On a serious note, the whole ride is going to be hard for me, I’ll probably be out of breath by the time we reach Bootham.

Question 5 – Who are you looking forward to biking with the most and the least?
I’m not one for favourites, I’m looking forward to meeting a lot of the group properly and having a real good crack at what is probably going to be the hardest thing I have ever got involved in (except my ex).

Question 6 – If you could choose any York City player either past or present to bike with you, who would it be?
Definitely Lindon Meikle, so we could get the message across to him of how utterly awful his skills and wayward crosses were!

Question 7 – Do you predict any injuries or falls for yourself or other riders?
I predict lots of falls, as there seems to be many other people in my position who ride very little. Hoping for no serious injuries!

Question 8 – What’s the first thing you’ll do when you finish?
Ring my mum and tell her ‘I’m happy’ in a Pete Wilson style manner, shortly after we won the play offs.
